College BIASED RECRUITMENTS….Hurts MANY…!!!!!!!!!

Hello frndss…!!!!

Welcome you all…..!!!! It’s been pleasant climate this time around…!!! Not too hot and not too cold..!!! Great climate to have fun….!!!!

Amidst this great climate and pleasant atmosphere I have a hot issue in my mind. Yes, you can call it as my agitation towards the Engineering Colleges and Placements.

It is always a proud moment in the life when you enter into the college after completion of your school and it is even more proud moment if you took the admission into the Engineering College. Great..!!! The feeling we get at that time is really awesome. We straight away are on the Cloud NINE..!!!!! Isn’t it???

No, friends don’t take it wrongly.I am not here to discuss the anatomy of how you get through engineering but rather I am here to discuss something much larger issue than this. If I ask you that how many engineering colleges are there in Indore? Then I guess it is bit easy to answer that near about 50. Isn’t it?? But friends if I ask you that How many colleges in Indore who guarantees the placement? Then I think the answer is much easier. Because there are hardly any engineering colleges in Indore who guarantees the placement. We don’t see any encouraging figures. It is somber that students are not getting job because of recession, that’s fine but it is even more depressing when some deserving students are not getting the jobs just because of their wrong choice of the college.

You all might be confused that what actually I want to say?? Actually the point is that these are last few days of engineering for the BATCH of 2010. Because of the recession last year we have a delayed placement season. And now when the recruitment spree has started it has been merely confined to the few colleges in the city. This is really injustice to many deserving candidates. For last few days Infosys and TCS visited to our city for recruiting the candidates. It was an Open Campus. It was great moment but it came as shock when they declared that only some colleges are eligible for that and my college was not eligible. It hurt to an extent. But we pleased ourselves that who cares when we have to go for Masters, so this placement doesn’t matters to us. But friends my problem is not with the placement of those students, I am actually concerned ..Are companies actually hiring the BEST?

Companies want the best, there’s not doubt in that. But when they are in quest for the BEST candidates then why are they restricting themselves to some of the colleges. They should come as OPEN to all. There are 45 other engineering colleges in the city who are also producing equally well qualified engineers, so how can you say that which college is eligible and which is not?. It’s totally disastrous. These instances really hurt me a lot. I many a times come across students who are below par in their communication skills and Technical knowledge but are still placed in top companies. The reason is simple that because they are studying in 1 or 2 upper grade colleges. This is really injustice to other students of the same grade. I am not jealous but I want to say that there are 20000 other candidates who are pursuing the same degree but they are not getting the recognition of their knowledge. So how far the policies of the companies are good? I totally oppose such type of recruitment process and I hate such biased recruitment process.

So through this Blog I want to CONGRATULATE to all the students who are placed but more importantly I want to commiserate for those who are much much better and are not getting their recognition. Through this blog, I also want to make an appeal to the companies that when they are actually looking for the BEST they should treat everybody and everyone as equal. Such biased recruiting process creates a sense of inferiority in the minds of the candidates and at times diverts the students from their goal who could have been more worthwhile to companies.

Well I may have written this article in seething mode but it is not intended to hurt any one.

There is saying in Hindi….
”SAMAY SE PEHLE aur KISMAT SE JYAADA KUCH NAHIN MILTA”.

So it’s always better to just wait for the golden opportunity in life and who know GOD has something else in the store.

  1. Well written.
The scenario which you are facing today is same as an year ago with us.But every firm have their rules and regulations.Yes it is their loss in that too.
The name which you are mentioned above are the top companies of India. They follow the same recruiting process from many year.I think they hae to change according to the changing time. From last few years the entrance test for engineering is such in which 'Gadha-Ghoda ek barabar' so keeping this in mind companies need to rethink on their recruiting process.
